One rock band replaces another atop the Billboard 200 albums chart, as Fall Out Boy’s “Save Rock and Roll” debuts at No. 1, bumping last week’s champ, Paramore, down to No. 12. FOB’s new album, the band’s second chart-topper, trumps Kid Cudi’s “Indicud,” which debuted at No. 2 this week.
Despite the genre in its title, Fall Out Boy’s “Save Rock and Roll” is more informed by singer Patrick Stump’s dance-based solo foray than most of the band’s previous albums. The new album contains some head-scratching collaborations, but even those that fall relatively flat are still positive indicators that the members of Fall Out Boy are back to having fun, stretching their legs and taking risks. when we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. its why we started fall out boy in the first place. . this isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. we needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.
the future of fall out boy starts now.
save rock and roll…
