For all that last week’s “Glee” episode was about ambition and goals, with characters pontificating the facts of their circumstance at each other instead of with one another, this week followed through with characters who actually talked to one another - or had good reason not to. So while on the one hand the plot was actually consistent and well managed, with believable motivation, response and action all around, on the other hand the songs were mostly forgettable and generally useless to advancing the plot. Perhaps “Glee” can’t rub its stomach and pat its belly at the same time, but can you really complain when Ricky Martin comes to visit?
After Rihanna’s eight-week Hot 100 reign - with “We Found Love” - we now have a new No. 1: LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It.”
The song brings “sexy” back to the Hot 100’s pinnacle for a fourth visit. The three previous No. 1s with the word “sexy” in their titles? Rod Stewart’s “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” (four weeks at No. 1 in 1979); Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy” (three weeks at No. 1 in 1992); and, Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack” (seven weeks at No. 1 in 2006).
